Hi, I'm Bethany and I am a Bristol-based digital marketer and blogger.
I started out in journalism, earning a 2:1 BA (Hons) Degree at the University of Gloucestershire. After moving away from my Cornwall hometown, I thrived at my first position as a reporter at the Gloucestershire Gazette.
I then moved on to explore the exciting PR world at B2B PR agency Berkeley Global as an Account Executive, before getting my teeth into a partly alien industry. I joined global holiday rentals company Travelopo as a copywriter and progressed to the company's Digital Marketing Editor role. I am now the Marketing Officer at Jessie May, and incredible children's hospice at home charity based in Kingswood.
As a result of my careers in journalism and PR, I've had the unique experience of being at both ends of the press release journey. I've been the Account Executive, writing and proof-reading the press release, sourcing the relevant journalists to pitch it to and selling-in. I've monitored for coverage - gained coverage - and then reported back with the results in client meetings.
I've also been the journo. I've picked up the phone, opened the email and questioned the document's relevancy and topicality. I've probed the PR for additional informaton and quotes. I've edited, rewritten and stylised copy for print and online. I've then shared the story across the company's social media channels, stirring up conversation and debate.
While I love the fast-paced marketing industry, I am now also a volunteer journalist at the St George & Redfield Voice.
I've loved learning, growing and excelling across the marketing, PR, journalism and communications industries. Before my full-time positions, I fought for an array of invaluable work experience placements, including stints at ITV West Country, Plymouth and ITV West & West Country, Bristol, The Herald, Plymouth and WildCard PR, Truro.

And off the clock?
In my spare time, I am a flautist in a Bristol flute choir, (semi-frequent) gym-goer, Cecelia Ahern fan - avid book reader in general, prosecco-drinker, Twitter-addict, obsessive cat-mum and musical theatre enthusiast! I'm always out and about in Bristol but can be found flitting between this magnificent city and Cornwall, where I grew up, and the majority of my family reside.
And, of course, I'm a passionate Hufflepuff.
